Your Best LASHES: Here’s How…
First: Use an eyelash curler to give your lashes a curve and open up the eyes. When using an eyelash curler, squeeze your lashes onto the curler pad, then release slowly, then pull the curler away from your eyes. Don’t release and pull away at the same time, or you might pull some eyelashes out! Also, it’s best to curl the lashes prior to mascara application. If you need to use the curler again after you’ve applied your mascara, do so carefully since mascara can cause the lashes to stick to the curler, so before you pull the curler away from the eyes, make sure all your lashes have separated properly away from the curler.
Second: Try a lash primer. A lash primer or lash conditioner provides a base coat for your mascara. It will condition, thicken and strengthen your lashes all in one step - even before you apply your mascara. Just brush a lash
conditioner onto your lashes and let dry completely prior to mascara application.
Third: Apply mascara to your upper lashes from the base to end of the lashes. Idea: Turn your mascara wand upright and ‘tip’ the ends of your eyelashes with the end of the mascara wand, thus coating the very ends of your lashes with a good amount of the mascara, helping your lashes to appear longer. You may wish to do the same step to your lower lashes, but use sparingly, as too much mascara underneath the eye can make the eyes appear tired. Use a clean spoolie or lash brush to comb through your lashes if they need to be separated. Let each coat of mascara dry completely before applying additional mascara to the lashes.
Last: To help the base of your eyelashes appear thicker, use a very thin line of high-pigment eyeliner, either pencil or liquid, whichever is preferred.
WHY select highly-pigmented makeup colors? Makeup colors that look best for photography and stage are usually highly-pigmented, meaning they contain strong color pigments and are not sheer. A highly-pigmented makeup color product will allow the user to apply a small amount to achieve a bit of color or it can provide darker, dramatic color when applied more heavily. This allows flexibility for the user to achieve her preferred look. Along with being longer-lasting, the strong color pigment in highly-pigmented makeup colors will hold up against the harsh lighting from cameras and stage lights (no washed-out, ghostly makeup looks).
